Adolescent Lives Do Matter

 Most adolescents nowadays seem to feel as though their lives are not as important as other age groups are. This may stem from the fact that when a person goes through the adolescent stage of life they feel as though no one understands them. Another way this idea may stem from is the fact that almost every time the news is a report about young adult or adolescent is being either killed, arrested, raped, or even kidnapped. This instills in young adolescents minds that maybe their lives aren't so important and maybe they should just give it up their life's to the streets or give up on whatever they are trying to do in life.  Most adults don't understand what adolescents go through in that time spam of a few years. Adolescents are chemically imbalanced and are already going through hermonal changes to become adults. It seems as though adults forget that they also felt the same way and probably saw the same thing happening to the young adults they also knew, who got their life taken away by a bullet or kidnapper. It hurts adolescents to see that people their own age are experiencing everything that they are. They might think that this could be me next or maybe this is how the world sees my life. Maybe I'm just another number or person in this ruthless society? Maybe this society doesn't think that I can make it or deserve to make it just because I'm young.? Adolescents think these thing because society already has ideas of what adolescents are. They are stereotyped as being whiny or disrespectful, but all they want to do is be heard. Yes, sometimes they may become disrespectful this is a factor that may be the result of a parent not teaching their child correctly. You can't always hold things against them. Most adolescents are feared by older people because they think adolescent are rowdy and violent when in reality they really aren't. Some adults make it seem like adolescents are a whole new breed or something and they act like they've never been that age before. They forget to realize that even though adolescents are different from many other age groups their life's do matter as well as all the other age groups do as well.
